The Ultimate Weight Loss is Life-Long Weight Control
Standing the Test of Time
Everyone is always searching for the ultimate weight loss method -something that
will slim them down quickly and forever more. Sadly, most weight loss stories
don’t have life-long weight control as a
happy ending. Most people experience bouts of
personal weight loss as they
struggle find the right diet and keep a slim waistline. But how do we move
beyond this typical weight loss struggle and into the realm of life-long weight
management?
1) Say no to fad diets
Fad diets are tempting –they are as enticing as an item we can’t have in a
store-front window. The term 'fad' is one which denotes a temporary time-frame;
therefore, engaging in a series of fad diets only promotes
cravings and yo-yo dieting and
takes people farther away from reaching a state of constant weight management.
2) Say no to trendy diets
Trendy diets are those which roll around every few years. They become the
hot topic of conversation until another hot diet comes along, trumps the current
one, and stays on the throne for a little while before the cycle begins again.
Although trendy diets do often work, they don’t produce diet equilibrium
as they are just a trend and people tend to treat them as such.
3) Say yes to healthy eating
At the end of the day, healthy eating is the simple answer to many weight loss
conundrums. Eating a balanced, nutritious diet is a principal that stands the
test of time. In addition, it doesn’t require completely omitting one food group
or shopping at expensive specialty grocers –it’s just good, clean eating. To
practically execute day to day healthy eating, shop on the perimeter of the
grocery store where the 4 major food groups can be found, as well as make wise
choices about what you eat at restaurants.
4) Say yes to regular exercise
Regular exercise is the like the icing on the weight loss cake. It completes a
healthy weight loss program by encouraging regular, calorie-burning and
metabolism-fueling activity. Even just a little exercise a day has significant
health and dietary benefits both for the present and the future.
